Custom Audio Video System with K40 Radar Detector and Laser Jammers
This $220,000 vehicle was modified due to its inability of it to play DVD videos or have an auxiliary A/V Source. Off to work we went with the simple goal of making it look as factory as possible. "Oh yeah, while you are at it, redo the audio system!"
An Alpine DVD player was tasked with the DVD movie playback to be displayed on the factory screen. The factory screen was modified in house to show the video.
Moving onto the audio system, a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty processor was used as the heart of the system. The 3sixty received the factory audio signal, cleaned it up, and then outputted the signal to an Alpine PDX 4 channel amplifier. The Alpine powered a pair of MB Quart "Q" series 6.5" component speakers mounted up front and a pair of JL Audio 8W3 woofer in a custom woofer enclosure.
The MB Quart 6.5" midbass was housed in a custom baffle located in the front door and the tweeter was located in the "A" pillar which was modified to provide a better sound while top down driving at high speeds. The woofer enclosure was a feat in itself to get it to fit around the vehicles electronics while providing enough airspace for the woofers. The woofers aimed down at a custom aluminum plate to provide a deeper richer bass, known as "loading". The enclosure was then bolted down for added safety and durability. A custom cover was then fabricated with matching AMG NAPA leather hides to finish it off and make it appear as if it was a factory option.
